Overview

Yvonne Boag is a rocognised Scottish born Australian painter and printmaker working extensively across Australia and South Korea. Boag reflects on optical stimulations brought from local surroundings and urban landscapes that responds into her distinct approach of vibrant colours and playful forms. Encompassing subjects of spectatorship and human condition, hectic, complex veneers are translated into simplified congruence.

 

Boag also teaches internationally, appointed as an Associate Professor at the Sydney College of Arts since 2012 and holding professional positions in Ewha Womens University and Chungju University in South Korea. Major participations of art fairs and exhibitions include Korea International Art Fair (KIAF) and solo shows in Stella Downer Fine Art Gallery, Sydney, and UM Gallery, Seoul, South Korea. She has been nominated as for reputable competitions including as a finalist for the Mosman Art Prize (2022, 2020) and winning the Paddington Art Prize (2020).
